EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FAIRY HAIR

Fairy hair has many names. It's also called hair tinsel, glitter strands, shimmers, sparkle hair, or silk extensions. It comes in a myriad of vibrant colors and is tied into the hair to add sparkle and enchantment. Think of it as hair jewelry!

A fairy hair strand of your choice is tied to a single hair with a special knot that fuses it to that hair. It can be treated just like your own hair. You can brush it, wash it, blow dry it, flat iron it, curl it, and it will even withstand dying, bleaching, and perming!

Your hair must be at least about 2 inches in order for fairy hair to be tied in well. As long as your hair is long enough, fairy hair can be applied to many different kinds of hair. Please tell us about any concerns you may have about your particular texture or type of hair. Fairy hair will conform to your curls, but may sit more on top of tight curls rather than blend into the hair.

Fairy hair is typically tied and placed on the top layers of your hair so that it is most visible. But it can also be placed under, or layered in, or placed even at the base of your head in order to create a more "peek-a-boo" effect at the hair ends. Please discuss your wishes at your sparkle session.

 

Fairy hair lasts as long as the hair strand it's tied to

stays attached to your scalp. It can last 2 to 6 weeks

and even longer depending on how fast you shed

your hair and your daily styling routine.

We recommend being gentle when you brush, hold your hair

and brush below your hand, not using a fine tooth comb,

and not using heat over 400 degrees.

FAIRY LOCS

Did you know that fairy hair can also be applied to braids and locs? These are what I call fairy locs! Instead of being tied to one hair, a fairy hair of your choice is wrapped in a criss-cross style around a braid or lock. The fairy hair is then secured to the braid or loc with a knot as well as two cuffs of your choice or a butterfly cuff. Fairy locs also last about 2 weeks and potentially longer.

MERMAID HAIR

​

This is basically a fairy hair extension where a "chunk" of fairy hair is applied to the hair with an extension bead. The extension is made of about 30 fairy hair strands all in the bead and therefore all in one place. This is great for littler kids who tend to be rougher on their hair or anyone who has finer hair. We do recommend being careful when brushing over the extension beads as these will catch your brush or comb.
